hi
I'm Karen, a photographer and creative based between Wisconsin and Chicago.
My approach is rooted in documenting moments as they unfold. I'm not interested in forcing reactions or turning people into versions of themselves that don't exist. I pay attention to what's happening naturally and photograph it in a way that feels honest, intentional, and timeless.
My work blends documentary storytelling with an editorial perspective. The goal isn't just to create beautiful images, but to create photographs that bring you back to how the day actually felt.
Whether I'm photographing a wedding, a couple, or a personal milestone, I want people to feel comfortable, present, and fully themselves. I believe great photos come from trust, clear communication, and giving people the space to exist without constantly performing for the camera.
I'm drawn to genuine connection, meaningful details, and the moments that often go unnoticed. Those are usually the images that matter most years later.
I'm currently booking weddings and portrait sessions for 2026 and 2027 and am available for travel nationwide.
If that sounds like the experience you're looking for, I'd love to hear from you.
my
why
Photography has always been about people for me.
Not perfect timelines, curated moments, or creating something that looks good online. The older I get, the more I realize how quickly life changes.
People grow older. Relationships evolve. Seasons end.
What feels ordinary today becomes something you'll wish you could revisit years from now.
That's why I do this.
I photograph weddings and life milestones because they matter, but I also pay attention to the in-between moments that often go unnoticed.
The way someone looks at the people they love. The nervous excitement before a ceremony. A parent squeezing their child's hand. The moments that tell the real story.
I believe photographs become more valuable with time. They outlive trends, social media posts, and memories that start to fade. They become reminders of who we were, who we loved, and what mattered most.
My goal is simple: to create photographs that feel honest now and meaningful years from now. Images that bring you back to a feeling, not just a moment.
Because at the end of the day, the photos that matter most aren't always the perfect ones. They're the ones that remind us of our people.
